Synergy between NEP 2020 and the credit system
The inclusion of Scouts and Guides (Rangers and Rovers) in higher educational institutions was recommended under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and guidelines of the Union Ministry of Education.
Previously, only circulars were issued, but students were not taken seriously because of the lack of mandatory credit points. Now, with VTU mandating 1 credit point, millions of students will be part of this activity.
Demand for special training courses for teachers
In view of the shortage of Scouts and Guides instructors in the state, Bharat Scouts and Guides has sought training from VTUA special certificate course to train teachersIt has also been requested to start it. Its syllabus will be provided by the institute itself.
